What is Round Robin?

Key Characteristics

All teams play all others — no elimination
Final standings tell the true ranking
Matches = N×(N−1)÷2 (e.g., 6 teams = 15 matches)
Configurable point systems: W=3/D=1/L=0 or W=2/L=0

Perfect For

League seasons played weekly or bi-weekly
Small groups of 4–12 teams
Pool/group stages before playoffs
When ranking all teams from 1st to last matters

Technical Details

Tiebreaker order (applied in sequence)

·1. Win percentage (or points, depending on configured system)
·2. Point/goal differential (points for minus points against)
·3. Head-to-head record between tied teams
·4. Total points/goals scored

Scale considerations

·Best with ≤12 teams per group (6 teams = 15 matches; 10 teams = 45 matches)
·For more than 12 teams, use Pool Play (groups of 4–6 with playoffs) instead
·Double round robin (play everyone twice) available in division settings

FAQs

Too many teams — round robin is taking too long

·Switch to Pool Play for groups of 4–6 with a playoff
·For league seasons, spread matches across multiple weeks

Teams tied in final standings

·Tiebreakers apply automatically: win%, point diff, H2H, total points
·Detailed tiebreaker breakdown visible on the standings page

Match rescheduled — how to update?

·Edit the match time in admin — standings are unaffected until scores are entered
·Scores can be entered at any time, including after the event
