Technical Details

Bracket sizing and byes

·Works cleanest with power-of-2 counts: 8, 16, 32, 64
·Brakto adds byes automatically for other sizes — highest seeds skip Round 1
·Example: 12 teams → 16-team structure with 4 byes for seeds 1–4

Seeding rules

·Top seed (#1) is drawn against lowest seed (#N) to protect top teams
·Auto-seeding uses team rating or ranking if available
·Manual seeding lets organizer place teams in any bracket position

Optional third-place match

·Toggle in division settings before generating the bracket
·Semifinal losers compete for bronze — does not affect the championship bracket

FAQs

Odd number of teams — what happens?

·Brakto adds byes automatically to fill to the next bracket size
·Highest seeds receive byes (they skip Round 1)
·No action needed — bracket generation handles this

Score entered incorrectly — how to fix?

·Go to the match in admin → click Edit Score
·Update scores and save — bracket advancement updates automatically

Team forfeited or no-showed

·Mark the match as a forfeit win for the present team
·The present team advances; forfeit is recorded in match history
