Create the Tournament

Go to Dashboard → Create Tournament and choose Pickleball.
Name it (e.g., Thursday Night MLP League — Spring 2026). Set your start and end dates to cover 5 weeks.
Set the location (your primary venue). You can override per-week locations later.
Set the entry fee (e.g., $100) and enable registration.

Create the MLP Division with Weekly Limits

This is the key step. The division settings control team size, signup limits, and sub rules.

Create a division and set the format to MLP Team Format.
Set Team Size to 8 (4 males + 4 females per team).
Set Required Males to 4 and Required Females to 4.
Set Monthly Signup Limit to 2 — each player can sign up for 2 weeks per calendar month.
Set Open Signup Days Before to 2 — players who've hit their monthly limit can sub in 2 days before the match.

Important: The monthly limit of 2 means each player uses 2 of their "included" signups per month. Any additional weeks are free subs — players can only sign up for those once the 2-day grace window opens.

Build 4 Teams with 8 Players Each

Go to Admin → Roster for your MLP division.

Create 4 teams (e.g., Court Vipers, Spin City, Net Crushers, Drop Shot Dynasty).
Add 8 players per team (4 male + 4 female). Use drag-and-drop to arrange.
Set team seeds to control matchup order (Seed 1 vs Seed 4 in Week 1, etc.).

32 players total: 4 teams × 8 players = 32 on the full roster. Each week, 2 matches happen (e.g., Team A vs B and Team C vs D), so 16 players are active.

Generate the 5-Week Schedule

Go to Admin → Schedule Generator.

Pick the day of the week (e.g., Thursday), start time, and first match date.
Click Generate Schedule. Brakto creates a round-robin: each team plays every other team once.
With 4 teams, this produces 6 match pairings over ~5 weeks (2 matches per week, some weeks may have byes depending on team count).
If you rotate clubs, set per-week locations (e.g., Week 1 = Club A, Week 2 = Club B).

Per-week locations are shown on the player-facing schedule, so players know exactly where to show up each week.

Players Sign Up for Their Weeks

Share the Weekly Availability page link with players. They'll see all upcoming weeks and can sign up.

Players open the Weekly Availability page or use Register Multiple Weeks.
They pick their 2 preferred weeks for the month. Brakto enforces the monthly limit.
If the monthly limit is reached, the system shows "Slots open 2 days before".
Players click the bell icon on full weeks to subscribe to open slot notifications.

How the Sub / Grace Period Works

Week 3 is Thursday:On Tuesday (2 days before), the grace window opens.

Auto-email:Anyone who clicked the bell icon gets emailed "Open spots available for Week 3!"

Sub signup:Players who hit their monthly limit can now sign up for this week — it's free / doesn't count against their limit.

Each Week: Lineups, Play, Score

Set Lineups (Admin)

Go to Admin → Lineups for that week's matches. Players who signed up are automatically marked as active in the lineup selector. Assign them to MLP events (Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles 1–4, DreamBreaker).

Enter Scores

After each event, enter scores. Brakto auto-calculates event winners, match winners, and updates the season standings (Wins, Losses, Points For/Against, Point Differential).

Automatic Notifications

If someone drops out, you remove their signup. If that opens a slot and the grace window is active, Brakto automatically emails all subscribed players. No manual action needed.
