1Choose Tournament Format
Select the bracket format that best fits your tournament needs:
- Single Elimination: Fast format where one loss eliminates a team. Best for time-constrained tournaments.Learn more →
- Round Robin: Everyone plays everyone. Best for leagues and small tournaments.Learn more →
2Add Participants
You have three options for adding participants:
Manual Entry
Type participant names one by one in the input fields
Excel/CSV Upload
Upload a spreadsheet with participant names (one per row)
Template Download
Download our template, fill it out, and upload it back
3Customize Settings (Optional)
Customize your bracket with these options:
- Tournament Name: Add a custom name for your bracket
- Seeding: Enable automatic seeding or randomize matchups
- Bracket Style: Choose between standard or custom visual styles
- Include Byes: Automatically add byes for non-power-of-2 participant counts
4Generate and Download
Once you're ready:
- 1. Click the "Generate Bracket" button
- 2. Review the bracket structure and matchups
- 3. Download in your preferred format:
- • PDF: Best for printing and sharing
- • Excel: Best for editing and tracking scores
- • Image: Best for social media sharing
For bulk participant upload, format your Excel or CSV file like this:
💡 Pro Tip: Download our template file to ensure proper formatting. Click "Download Template" on the bracket generator page.
❌ Upload file is rejected
Make sure your file is in .xlsx or .csv format. Participant names should be in column A, one name per row. Avoid empty rows or special characters.
❌ Bracket looks wrong after generation
Check that your participant count matches your selected format. For single elimination, we automatically add byes for non-power-of-2 counts (e.g., 6 participants → 8-team bracket with 2 byes).
❌ Can't download the bracket
Make sure pop-ups are enabled for brakto.com. Some browsers block automatic downloads. Try clicking the download button again or check your browser's download settings.
❌ Need to edit bracket after downloading
Download the Excel format for easy editing. You can modify matchups, add scores, and update the bracket as your tournament progresses. For live tournament management, consider using ourfull tournament platform.
