Two ways to estimate headcount — for the player-paid service fee
Online registration has no field-size bands: you create the Event, pay a one-time setup ($25 one-time setup to open online registration) to open registration, and each player then pays a flat $2/player service fee added to their registration — you keep 100% of your entry fees. So the By players and Team sport toggles are only headcount calculators: however many participants you register online, the setup fee stays the same.
If you collect registrations outside Brakto and import the roster by CSV/Excel instead, that event is priced by capacity band — free up to 8 players, then $29 up to 16, $99 up to 128, $349 up to 600. There is no per-player fee on an import event.
Best for singles, or when you already know total people (e.g. “about 40 players”).
Best when you think in teams × roster size: doubles (2), triples (3), volleyball (6), and similar formats.

However many participants you register, the organizer pays the same one-time setup: $25 one-time setup to open online registration, plus $2 per player (paid by the player). Each player pays their own flat $2/player service fee.
